NoCO Youth Fly Fishing Day Camp
Youth Day Camp
Rocky Mountain Flycasters will continue to offer the NoCO Youth Fly Fishing Day Camp this Summer for young persons ages 14 - 17. The Day Camp is a fast paced five days of education, participation, and great fun. Campers learn how to fly fish, and also about the responsibility for the watersheds, riparian habitat, river ecology, and trout. Some of the topics include fly fishing equipment, knots, regulations, water safety, entomology, fly tying, trout behavior, casting and reading the river. Campers will be dropped off in the morning with a lunch and appropriate clothing and picked up at the same location in the evening. During the day all equipment and transportation will be provided. Camp activities are planned to take place at locations in Fort Collins and on the Poudre River, with a final day of fishing in Rocky Mountain National Park. All of the information we can provide to help with signing up is in the Application Packet which may be downloaded from this page or contact the Camp Director at youthcamp@rmftu.org.
