Speaker:

Connor Murphy, Fisheries Biologist

Both professionally, and recreationally, Connor has been deeply tied to rivers and fish his entire life. Growing up in Fort Collins, a childhood spent in the mountains of northern Colorado led to a rabid love affair with the outdoors, fly fishing in particular. This zeal for angling, coupled with a fascination for trout and their homes, snowballed into a career of guiding and fly shop work as well as a degree in fisheries biology from Colorado State University. After graduating from CSU, Connor’s trout fixation led him to chase salmonids around Alaska, New Zealand, Chile, and beyond. The struggles facing water and rivers in the American west drew him back home to Fort Collins, and to FlyWater. Connor has been fortunate to live and work on rivers all over the planet and brings a unique background of applied hydrology, fisheries biology, entomology, and more to the table.
