Trip Name: Poudre River

Participants: 8 max
Dates: March 24, 2020 – Tuesday (to avoid crowds)
Location: Gateway Natural Area ($9 day use fee per vehicle)
Details: We’ll meet at 8am at the King Soopers just off College Ave on north side of Ft Collins. Will need volunteers to drive their vehicle, and do some carpooling to the river.
Transportation: We will carpool from Ft Collins to the Poudre.
Tips – Flies etc: Hopefully the fish will be hitting midges and BWOs, and we hope to have some dry fly action. Be ready to nymph fish with an indicator in the morning, and hopefully switch to dry or dry dropper rigs by lunchtime. Will mostly use 4x-5x tippet, maybe 6x if fish are rising to dries. Midge larva or emerger patterns should be size 18-22, and midge dries should be size 18-20. BWO patterns should be about size 18 for nymphs, emergers, and dries.
